I began swimming at the age of 5 and since then it has been a huge part of my life. First starting as a hobby, swimming soon developed into a passion and much dedication and motivation was needed to improve my skills. After reaching National level competitions on 4 occasions, both individually and as part of a team, I decided to start teaching to give young people the same opportunities I had. I have been a swimming teacher since 2014, volunteering for swimming clubs, as well as working for the council. Furthermore, I am fully qualified Lifeguard.
I am currently studying at Sixth Form and hope to pursue a career in the field of Economics.
I think swimming is a crucial life skill that every child should learn but I think having fun whilst learning and enjoying it is also very important. Feeling comfortable and familiar in an aquatic environment is essential, then building on the basics to develop skills to allow swimmers to reach their full potential.
