Swimming is something that has always been very important to me, as it is one of the only sports I am able to take part in. I started swimming aged 4 and since then swam with different swim schools and clubs. Currently I train and compete with New Earswick Swimming Club.
I found my passion for teaching at the club when I started volunteering in my spare time. Now I am at the pool everyday of the week either teaching or swimming.

As a result of my volunteering I have achieved my ASA Level One and Two Swimming Teaching Qualifications. I also hold the RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches.

I currently study A Levels. After which, I am hoping to do an Art Course at York College alongside swimming and teaching.

Swimming is such an important life skill however I think it should be enjoyed. Developing water confidence and basic skills whilst having fun is most important to me as I believe this would create a foundation for a great swimmer.
